Time off New

Mandatory election of a substitute

Time Off Module with an important update → the option to require choosing a replacement when submitting a leave, delegation, or other absence request is now available.

Up until now, indicating a replacement was optional. Now, when designing a specific type of request, the module administrator can activate the requirement to specify a replacement upon request submission. Such settings can be configured for selected request types (e.g., only for vacation leave).

If the requirement is enabled, for a given request type (e.g., business trips), an employee will need to specify who will replace them. Otherwise, their request will not be possible to submit.

This functionality will help to prevent situations where business areas remain unattended due to employee absences.

The tomHRM system also ensures that absences and replacements do not overlap. In other words, if an employee wants to specify a replacement who is on leave during that period, they won't be able to do so. Conversely, if an employee is substituting for someone and still submits a leave request for the same period, the system will notify about the conflict.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that information about who is replacing whom is always available in the absence calendar in the details view of a specific employee's absence. This applies regardless of whether the reason for the absence is set as visible or hidden.
